Schaumburg parks offer volleyball classes

Volleyball Skills & Drills classes will take place Saturdays at the Schaumburg Park District's The Sport Center at 1141 W. Irving Park Road in Schaumburg.

Classes are available for children ages 8 to 14 with seven- and eight-week sessions beginning Sept. 8 and Oct. 27.

"Our Skills & Drills program is a great way to introduce volleyball to younger children," said Derek Dvorak, assistant manager of The Sport Center. "This gives them an opportunity to learn about and experience the sport and see if they might want to pursue it competitively when they get to high school."

Instructors will teach players the essentials of passing, setting and hitting through a variety of fun drills and games.
