New leadership seminars offered at ECC this fall

Ready to move ahead? Elgin Community College is offering seminars this fall to local professionals of all industries and backgrounds who seek to further develop their leadership skills. Cost is $109 per person; or $69 per person if employed at a chamber member business.

Leadership education seminars include:

• "Situational Leadership" will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive. This seminar is focused on teaching leaders to diagnose the needs of an individual or a team and then use the appropriate leadership style to respond to the needs of the person, team and the situation.

• "Leading Change" will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Education & Work Center, 6704 Barrington Road, Hanover Park. Interactive change seminar that increases leaders' change awareness level and provides the strength to fuel successful organizational change. The program utilizes participation, feedback and reinforcement to enable leader learning.

• "Leading Through Innovation" will be 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Randall Oaks Golf Club & Banquets, 4101 Binnie Road, West Dundee. This seminar incorporates research and case studies, providing practical methods and tools to significantly enhance individual and organizational creativity.

• "Leading Change" will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Elgin Community College Center for Emergency Services, 815 E. Plank Road, Burlington. Interactive change seminar that increases leaders' change awareness level and provides the strength to fuel successful organizational change. The program utilizes participation, feedback and reinforcement to enable leader learning.

• "Communicating Leadership Success" will be 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive. This seminar teaches leaders the interaction essentials they need to handle the variety of challenges and opportunities they encounter every day in the workplace and beyond.

• "Situational Leadership" will be offered from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Education & Work Center, 6704 Barrington Road, Hanover Park. This seminar is focused on teaching leaders to diagnose the needs of an individual or a team and then use the appropriate leadership style to respond to the needs of the person, team and the situation.

Seminars are offered in partnership with several area chambers of commerce including Algonquin/Lake in the Hills, Bartlett Area, Burlington Business Council, Carol Stream, Elgin Area, Hampshire, Hoffman Estates, Huntley, Northern Kane, St. Charles, Streamwood and Western DuPage.
