BACOA Partners with Jewel Osco to Provide Flu Shots

The Barrington Area Council on Aging and Jewel Osco Pharmacy have partnered to ensure older adults and their families can get a flu shot from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Barrington Park District, 235 Lions Drive, Barrington.

"It's a convenience that can help older adults as we begin to move into flu season," said BACOA's Active Aging Coordinator Chris Betz. "The Center for Disease Control recommends annual flu vaccinations for everyone six months and older.

"Flu vaccinations may be covered by Medicare Part D or a private insurance plan," continued Betz. "People should remember to bring their insurance cards."

As an added incentive, Jewel is offering a 10 percent grocery coupon with every shot.
