College of DuPage accepting nominations for 2018 Women of Distinction Award

The College of DuPage Women's Study Group is accepting nominations for the 2018 Adade Wheeler Woman of Distinction Award.

Named for former COD history professor Adade Wheeler, the award has been given annually since 1983 to individuals who have made significant contributions to the personal and professional advancement of women through education, advocacy and/or mentoring.

Nominees must reside, work or volunteer within Community College District 502.

Those submitting names must write a short essay discussing how their nominee meets the award's criteria. Priority is placed on activities that are beyond the scope of the workplace.

Submissions also must include nominees' lists of achievements.

Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The award ceremony will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in SRC 2000. Award winners receive a $500 prize.
