Aurora 88s roller derby to host doubleheader Sept. 8

Come out and support your local roller derby leagues at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Aurora Skate Center, 34W113 Montgomery Road, Aurora. It will be a doubleheader with the Aurora 88s vs. the Quad City Rollers and Northern Illinois Junior Roller Derby vs. K-County Junior Roller Derby.

Whistle starts at 5:30 p.m.

The charity of the month is Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois.

The national anthem will be sung by Megan Mkrtschjan, and DJ Entertainment provides music for all to enjoy. Halftime games and prizes to be won.

Consession stand is available at the rink, along with a bake sale supporting the Aurora 88s Roller Derby. Check out the different vendors Taylor Kessel, Bead Streetz, and the guest merchant tables and swag from everyone.

For advance tickets, visit www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3589128. Tickets are $10 when purchased online or directly from your favorite 88 member, skater, ref or NSO (non-skating official).

Tickets at the door are $12, $10 for seniors and free for kids age 12 and younger.

After the bout, be sure to join the Aurora 88s for some craft beer, live music, and dancing at the afterparty at Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway Ave., Aurora.
