Saint Viator High School Hosts the Inaugural Pat Mahoney Golf Classic to Support Legacy Scholarships

On Friday, October 5th, Saint Viator High School will host the inaugural Pat Mahoney Golf Classic at Old Orchard Country Club. The event will raise funds for the Alumni Scholarship Endowment for legacy students, which provides critical tuition assistance for second and third generation Lions.

The event is named in honor of Mr. Pat Mahoney, a longtime teacher, coach, dean of students, friend and supporter of Saint Viator-a true Lion for Life.

"Pat Mahoney was an integral part of our school for a long time, and is still a mentor to many of us today. Thus, we can't think of a better way to honor him than with this outing," says Tom Ramsden, Vice President, Development. "It's a great way for alumni to give back and support future generations of Lions through a scholarship their own children can benefit from."

This fun, affordable, local outing will be hosted by Saint Viator's Alumni Association Board the Friday before Homecoming. It is the second golf outing held this year, after the successful Million Dollar Classic in June.

"This event is a great way to extend and kick off the Homecoming celebrations," said Kathleen Lynde, Alumni Manager at Saint Viator. "We hope to see alumni from every generation at this event as well as at the Homecoming game the following Friday."

The Pat Mahoney Golf Classic kicks off with registration at 9:00 a.m. and the shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. and includes a mid-round lunch and a post-round cocktail reception with a short program and awards. Saint Viator High School is a Catholic, College Preparatory high school where Tradition and Innovation meet.
