'Handicap This!' returns to Oakton stage Aug. 30-31
After earning standing ovations around the globe, "Handicap This!" comes home to Oakton Community College with performances at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Mike Berkson, born with cerebral palsy, is the lead actor and attended Oakton from 2007 to 2010. He is an organizer of the Keep on Keeping On Foundation, which assists individuals born with severe physical disabilities and educates and empowers others to make a difference.
The dynamic duo of Berkson and Tim Wambach light up the stage with humor, honesty, and a chemistry fueled by friendship in a show that provides an inside look at what is actually holding us back - ourselves.
