Naperville Sports Weekly opens new season

Naperville Sports Weekly is kicking off its 12th season this fall.

Back with host Allie Kaleta and segments such as "Where Are They Now," the show begins the new season with a football preview Sunday, Aug. 19, and regularly scheduled programs beginning Aug. 26.

This is Kaleta's second year as host.

"I like hosting the show because not only does the community have a lot of talent, but the show lets us tell behind-the-scenes stories, like on our segment 'Off the Field,' where we show what students are doing outside of their sport," Kaleta said.

This fall, the show also will live broadcast one Game of the Week for either boys or girls volleyball.

"There always seems to be something new to be covered in Naperville high school sports," said Justin Cornwell, sports director for Naperville Sports Weekly.

"This year is no exception. There is a new look for the DuPage Valley Conference, made up of only our five local teams. I'm excited to see how that changes the landscape of local athletics."
