Register for Save-A-Pet's Furry Friends 5K

Save-A-Pet is hosting Furry Friends 5K: 2018 Super Hero Run. The event includes a 5K timed run, a one mile, six-legged walk (human and their furry friend) and has a virtual component for those who want to participate in other ways. The event will take place at 8 a.m. Sept. 8 at Old School Forest Preserve, Libertyville. All proceeds from the race benefit Save-A-Pet, a true no-kill animal rescue.

All 5K Run/Walk participants will receive a backpack with race materials, race T-shirt, and paw-shaped participation medal. Trophies will be awarded to the top three males and females in each age category. All ages are welcome to participate.

The Six-Legged Fun Walk invites participants to bring their four-legged friends for exercise and socialization while supporting Save-A-Pet. All Six-Legged Fun Walk human participants will receive a backpack and a race T-shirt. Water for humans and dogs will be provided. This can also be done as a non-timed run if the participants choose to run instead of walking.

The virtual walk/run is for anyone who cannot make it on race day or who would prefer to break up the distance over multiple days. Each participant will receive a backpack, race T-shirt and a participation medal.
