Meet and Greet Ms. Veteran America

Lalena Zoe Magnetta, US Navy Petty Officer First Class envisions a future in which America's women veterans are no longer homeless. They are the fastest growing segment of homeless veterans. After realizing how many of her fellow women veterans may be in trouble, she knew she wanted to get involved. Recently she learned about a special way to showcase the "women beyond the uniform" with the Ms. Veteran America Competition. After several elimination rounds, Zoe has progressed to the finals, where she and 24 other women veterans will compete for the title in Hollywood, CA on October 7.

As a finalist, Zoe is using this exposure to bring focus to Final Salute, a non-profit that supplies clothing, safe and suitable housing as well as coaching to help homeless women veterans and military women in transition.

Join Zoe at her meet and greet Tuesday, August 14 from 5 PM to 7:30 PM at The Vine of Grayslake, 101 Center St., Grayslake. She will give a short presentation at 5:30 and again at 7:00. Heavy appetizers and soft drinks provided. The Vine will also be donating a portion of their food sales to Final Salute on the same day. No admission fee. All ages welcome.
