Mundelein Fitness Center to Host 4-Week Fitness Challenge

Game Changing Performance-a local Mundelein fitness center-is hosting a community-wide fitness transformation contest beginning on August 20 and continuing for four consecutive weeks.

Participants from Mundelein and Lake County are invited to take part in a contest to change lives and cut inches. Game Changing Performance, located at 300 Washington Blvd., will accomplish this feat by combining metabolic training with targeted improvements in nutrition to challenge participants to lose as much weight as possible in a healthy manner.

In the last 4 Game Changing Performance transformation contests, participants collectively lost over 600 lbs. by following an in-depth, well-researched nutrition program. "Healthy nutrition is vital no matter what your age. Your daily food choices can make a huge difference in your overall health and in how you feel and look. Eating a healthy, balanced diet daily provides the nutrients your body needs to keep your bones, organs, and muscles in optimum shape," explains Nathan Johnson, Fitness Expert and co-owner of Mundelein's Game Changing Performance.

The contestants will participate in a well-researched 4-week program consisting of small group training at least 3 days a week. Regular physical activity is one of the most important things people can do for their health. Research shows that exercise helps people to feel more confident, more attractive, less frustrated in how clothes fit, and self-perception improves.

Johnson went on to say, "80% of the population does little to no physical activity but only 1 out of 5 people are happy with the way they look and feel. At Game Changing Performance, we strive to help those who are frustrated and struggling with confidence with more than just diet and exercise. Changing the way you think can change the way you feel."

According to Johnson, transformation challenges generate solid results. "Participants are always fully committed to the program, they understand there is a start and end date. During those 4 weeks participants who are somewhat active will increase their physical activity levels. However, the most important reason challenges are so successful for the participants is the accountability they receive. On average 2 out 3 adults will quit an exercise program, which is why Game Changing Performance implements an accountability program to motivate and inspire participants to keep climbing toward their goals."

Meg Rapplean, a member of Game Changing Performance, recently had this to say about the Transformation Contest. "I knew I wanted to get back into good shape, but I was a bit apprehensive about jumping right into group training when I hadn't been working out at all and I had never done any group training and wasn't sure it was for me. Needless to say, it was the best decision I could have made. Not only did I feel immediately comfortable in the classes, but I started to see results right away."
