St. Matthew Lutheran Church and School hosts Pig Roast Aug. 12

St. Matthew Lutheran Church and School will hold its 28th annual Pig Roast on Sunday, Aug. 12, with food being served from noon to 5 p.m.

Continuing a tradition begun 28 years ago, St. Matthew will once again prepare and serve a meal of roast pork, German potato salad, hot buttered sweet corn and all the trimmings, for the price of one meal ticket. Culver's will also be dishing up their frozen custard for an additional charge.

Special entertainment featuring the acoustic stylings of vocalist/guitarist Richard Chubb will be performed throughout the afternoon.

There will also be Midway Games, a bounce house and activities for all ages. New this year, along with the continuing popularity of the Stein Races, will be a Bags Competition; there is an additional charge for some activities.

Admission is $15 for ages 11 and older, $5 for ages 4 through 10, and free for children 4 and younger.

The festivities will be preceded at 10:45 a.m. by an outdoor Creative Service under a tent led by St. Matthew's Praise Team.
