Lindenfest brings the fun in Lindenhurst

The village of Lindenhurst will host its annual Lindenfest celebration Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 9-12. Festival hours are 5:45-10 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The festival features carnival rides, bingo, food, music and other entertainment.

The festival begins with opening ceremonies at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, followed by the pageants for the titles of Little Miss, Junior Miss, and Miss Lindenhurst 2018.

Entertainment includes Saucy Jack with the music of the '70s through today at 7 p.m. and the Goddesses of Rock at 9:30 p.m. Friday; the Northsiders barbershop quartet at 5 p.m., country music by Flecher Rockwell at 7 p.m. and Tom Petty tribute band the PettyBreakers at 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and the annual Battle of the Bands all day Sunday.

In addition, Friday and Saturday will feature DJ and master of ceremonies Wayne Ewing from open to close.

One highlight of the festival is the annual Lindenfest Parade, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The parade will line up near Lindenhurst's Millennium Park, step off from Country Place and Sand Lake roads, and proceed west on Sand Lake to Valley. The theme for this year's parade is "Dreaming of Disney."

The Lindenfest Carnival will be open from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, 6-11 p.m. Friday, 1-11 p.m. Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Unlimited ride specials are available for $25 per person from 6-10 p.m. Thursday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and for $30 per person from 6-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

A "Mega Pass" for unlimited rides all four days is available for $55 in advance or $65 at the event.
