State champion Tri-Cities 12-U All-Stars to play in Great Lakes Regional Aug. 5

The undefeated Tri-Cities 12-U All Stars Little League recently won the Illinois Little League State Tournament, becoming state champions for the second year in a row. On Monday, they became the 12-U Illinois State Champions with an amazing win over South Springfield 4-2.

It is the first team in this Little League history to win back-to-back championships.

They will now be competing in the Great Lakes Regional Tournament in Westfield, Indiana, on Sunday, Aug. 5.

The game against Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League (Michigan) will be shown on ESPN+ at 3 p.m. (CDT)

The team includes: Ozzie Ziaja, Dominick Kooistra, Gavin Duran, Nathan Gerritsen, Gage Martin, Cameron King, Michael Bubala, Paulie Rudolph, Jack Schane, Shane Young, Bradley Lood, Kaeden Wagenaar and Jake Guyon.

Many of the boys have been playing together since they were 8 and 9 years old. They have dreamed of competing on this level.

The Tri-Cities Little League is made up of players from East and West Dundee, Algonquin, Carpentersville, Sleepy Hollow and Gilberts.
