Seniors invited to monthly stroll with naturalists

Senior citizens, come along on a leisurely guided stroll through natural areas in the Kane County forest preserves.

Each month, naturalists with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County lead a stroll, as part of its "Senior Stroll" program series.

Along the way, attendees learn about the natural and cultural history of the area.

"Senior Stroll" programs last about an hour, with social time and refreshments following the walk. These nature programs are free. Registration is not required.

The summer "Senior Stroll" series continues from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 2, at Blackberry Maples Forest Preserve, 43W231 Main St., Elburn.

The September "Senior Stroll" program will take place at Burnidge Forest Preserve, 38W235 Big Timber Road, Elgin. This program will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 6.
