Advocate Condell Black Health Expo 2018

Libertyville, Ill.-Advocate Condell Medical Center will host the Black Health Expo 2018, a free event focusing on health issues predominant in the black community, on Saturday, August 25. The event will address topics such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, diabetes, and sickle cell disease.

The Black Health Expo will include "Ask the Expert" panels and education stations lead by some of Advocate Condell's most prominent physicians and health professionals, as well as sample products and information regarding community resources. Lunch will be provided.

In addition to highlighting major health issues within the black community, the expo will also touch on the role of obesity in these health issues and reinforce the benefits of a proper diet and active lifestyle.

"We need to take advantage of every opportunity for something that is free…knowledge," says Dr. Reginal Spears, a physician at Advocate Condell and presenter at the expo. "The more people know about common medical problems the better their care and health will be."

The Advocate Condell Black Health Expo 2018 will take place at Advocate Condell Medical Center, 801 S. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, Ill.
