Live Art Series presents 'Miss Major Cushman' Aug. 24

The Live Art Series presents "Miss Major Cushman" from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Water Street Studios, 160 S. Water St. in Batavia. It will be performed by Sarah Rachel Schol and directed by Egla Kishta.

Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door. Seating is limited to 70. Doors and cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. and the performance begins at 7 p.m.

Pauline Cushman is a wife, mother, mediocre actress, and failed Civil War spy for the Union Army. She will tell her story. But how much of it is true is anyone's guess. Come meet one of vaudeville's most infamous storytellers at Miss Major Cushman.

This performance was conceived by Erin Austin, Egla Kishta, Sarah Rachel Schol, and Nick Thornton, and written by Erin Austin.
