Library Announces Programs for Business Owners and Job-Seekers

Whether a person owns a business or is seeking employment with one, he or she can benefit from programs coming in July and August to the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Registration is required for all of the following free events. To register, call (847) 923-3347 or visit the Information Desk on the library's second floor. Registration also takes place online at www.SchaumburgLibrary.org.

Becoming the Indispensable Employee is slated from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, in the Rasmussen South Room. Bob Podgorski will explain what it means to be an indispensable employee and offer strategies for establishing a long-term relationship with an employer.

SCORE: Intro to QuickBooks will take place from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 13 in the Rasmussen South Room. This program will be presented by Joel Shabsin of SCORE, the nation's largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors. He will explain what QuickBooks can do and the steps required to set up and implement this accounting software.

SCORE: Stop Hackers Before They Stop You will be held from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27 in the Rasmussen South Room. SCORE presenter Mark Lieberman will provide insight on hackers, their tools and motives, and how entrepreneurs can protect themselves and their businesses.

LinkedIn & Twitter for Job Seekers is scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28 in the Rasmussen South Room. Presenter Bruce Bixler will explain how these two social media platforms can deliver a one-two punch for job seekers. Attendees will learn to make the most of this combination to help bring success to their job search efforts.
