Faith Community Nurses Annual Luncheon was co-hosted by Islamic Foundation North in Libertyville

On May 9th the Advocate Health System's Annual Faith Community Network Nurse - Nurses Day Luncheon was Co-Hosted by Islamic Foundation North (IFN). Faith Community Nursing is a subspecialty of Professional Registered Nursing. Faith Community Nurses practice on-site in Churches, Mosques and Temples, by serving the unique needs of members through community health programs, screenings, and individual assistance tapered to the religious and cultural needs of that community. The Faith Community Nurses were honored for Inspiration, Innovation, and Influence.

Following a tour of the Mosque and the new IFN Health Clinic serving the uninsured of Lake County, IFN President Jaseem Anwar welcomed the Nurses and guests. Imam Azfar Uddin provided the Opening Prayer and discussed Islam and the significance of Quran, which was followed by a Quranic recitation by Haroon Syed Ali. Certificates for years of service were presented by Kirsten Peachey, Director of Congregational Health Partnerships, and Co-Director for the Center for faith and Community Health Transformation. The Nurses enjoyed an authentic Indian lunch with introductions and presentations by several individual Nurses from around the Chicagoland area, and members of the new IFN Health Committee.
