New golf cars enhance player experience at Prairie Landing
Golfers teeing off at Prairie Landing Golf Club in DuPage County will now have access to a new fleet of high-tech golf cars.
The West Chicago-based club, which features an 18-hole prairie links-style course, recently unveiled 76 new YamaTrack cars, which will enhance and modernize the golfer experience from the first swing to the last putt.
While most people generally view golf cars as solely a means of navigation, the new cars at Prairie Landing contain a free app that helps players hone their game. The app includes accurate preloaded course diagrams and GPS precise distance pins, which makes it easier to gauge and devise strategy for each shot.
Golfers can also download the companion YamaTrack app on smartphones for a more interactive experience.
Additionally, golf courses are always looking at ways to protect eco-sensitive areas. This innovative model allows the club to set geofence zones that control speed and golf car locations on the course. If, for example, a golfer were to drive too close to a geofenced area, the car would automatically stop moving and notify the driver to backup and exit.
The cars also come with a built-in tracking component, enabling staff to more efficiently schedule, stage and stagger golfers on busy days. And an advanced battery preservation feature ensures the cars are maximizing efficiency, while streamlining pace of play.
Furthermore, players can now order food from the comfort of their golf car and pick up the selected items when making the turn from the front nine to the back nine.
