Dundee Township Lions host vision screenings this summer

The Dundee Township Lions, in cooperation with the Fox River Valley Public Library District, recently prescreened 52 children from 6 months to 10 years of age for potential vision problems.

This is the first time the Lions has had a vision event for children and infants this young. It is part of the Lions' mission to provide the opportunity for early intervention. Often parents with children this young are not aware of potential vision problems that could interfere with learning.

On Saturday, July 7, the Lions will be offering free screening for diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. The evaluations will be held at the Senior Health Fair at the Dundee Township Senior Center, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville. Evaluations will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Appointments are not required.

The Dundee Township Lions Club meet at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at the Village Squire in West Dundee. For information, visit dundeelions.org or follow the club on Facebook.
