Watch water fights at Fireman's Festival in Lake County

The Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 60th annual Fireman's Festival this year.

The event is scheduled for 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday, June 23, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 24.

Admission is free. The Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department is at 114 Washington St., Ingleside.

The highlight of the event is the water fights, in which teams face off to push an aluminum keg using the spray of a fire hose.

The firefighters' water fights are scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday. Teams of men and women from local businesses can try their hand on Sunday; registration is at 11 a.m. and the fights start at 1 p.m.

Other festivities Saturday will include live music from the band Pirate Radio from 8 p.m. to midnight, along with a meat raffle and Super Raffle. Sunday features food like brats, hot dogs, burgers and corn; beer; kids bouncy houses; a waterslide; carnival games; and a meat raffle throughout the day.
