Adams Auto Body and Service Center hires new lead mechanic

A 15-year veteran mechanic with ASE and GM certifications is Adams Auto Body and Service Center's new service department leader.

Forty-three-year-old Mike Schoenherr of McHenry took over the lead mechanic role at the McHenry shop at 1811 W. Route 120 on June 18.

Schoenherr attended Universal Technical Institute's 18-month auto and diesel program from summer 2001 until January 2003. He was a Gary Lang Auto Group employee for 13 years, and takes over the Adams Auto Body and Service Center role after the recent retirement of Bob Miller.

Adams General Manager Rick Corso said that the shop and Gary Lang have a longstanding positive relationship, through which he knew Schoenherr to have a solid work ethic and enviable skill set.

"We're bringing in a top-quality, highly experienced mechanic to assist on the Adams collision side and to take our Adams service side to the next level - someone who will attend to all of the automotive needs of our loyal customers," Corso said.

Schoenherr said he's proud to be part of a shop with 60 years of heritage in his hometown.

"My family has brought cars here for collision repair for years," Schoenherr said. "People have confidence in the quality of the body work done here, and I plan to do my part to ensure that reputation extends to the service department as well."

Schoenherr and his wife, Lindsay, share their McHenry home with their daughter, Amelia, and son, Emerson.

Adams Auto Body and Service Center serves customers from Lake, McHenry, Kane and Cook counties. The shop is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
