MCCD opens First Friday Concert Series with Belle of the Fall

Sit back and enjoy a summer evening of musical entertainment with Belle of the Fall from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 1, on the back patio of the Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood.

Belle of the Fall, an indie folk rock pop alternative Americana duo from Connecticut, features Tracy Walton and Julia Autumn Ford. They met when Walton produced Ford's debut solo album in 2014 at his studio: On Deck Sound Studio.

They spent the better part of the next year touring together as solo artists. Eventually they began to play on each others sets and sing harmonies together.

In July 2015, they wrestled with the idea of remaining separate solo artists or committing to a duo. They chose the latter. Walton's weathered voice and upright bass seem to be built to compliment Ford's world class vocals. In 2016, Belle of the Fall released their debut album, "Earthbound." They later released their second full length titled "Rise Up."

Bring a picnic dinner or dessert and a lawn chair and enjoy the intimate outdoor setting under the branches of ancient oaks with stunning views of the outstretched valley.

In the case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors. No glass containers. Site closes at 9 p.m.

Additional First Friday Concerts will feature The Stingrays July 6: Lara Bell Aug. 3; and Hurrican Saxophone Quartet Sept. 7.

Registration is not required. For more information, call Prairieview Education Center, (815) 479-5779 or visit www.MCCDistrict.org.
