District 214 offers STEM, theater summer camps

District 214 Community Education is offering STEM Summer Camp - with full-day and half-day classes - starting Monday, June 18.

Nine full-day classes are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 20 half-day classes are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Classes will be at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights.

The full-day camp will offer the following classes:

• Camp Kelvin/Space Pioneers & Games (ages 4-7)

• EGD Platform Games/VEX Robotic Design and Programming (ages 8-14)

• Engineering Olympiad/Robotics Engineering Olympics (ages 8-14)

• Master 3-D Printing Minecraft/Computer Building - What's in the Box (ages 8-14)

• Medieval Defense/Robotics Engineering - Amazing Mechanisms (ages 4-7)

• Medieval Machinations/VEX Robotic Design and Programming (ages 8-14)

• Minecraft Adventures/Inventor's Workshop (ages 4-7)

• Software Engineering with Python/Minecraft EDU Travel into the Future (ages 8-14)

• Wings Wheels & Sails/Robotics Engineering Adventure (ages 4-7)

Additionally, Cinderella Goes Disco, a new, two-week program for children entering grades two through six will be offered this summer. Children will be given the opportunity to explore a variety of performing arts in an encouraging and supportive environment. The class is scheduled to run Monday, July 23, to Thursday, Aug. 2.
