ECC student veterans inducted into SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society

Six student veterans were inducted into Elgin Community College's chapter of SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society on Thursday, May 10, during a special induction ceremony in Jobe Lounge, located in Building B, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

"The ECC chapter of SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society is proud to induct six new members," said Anitra King, ECC career and veteran specialist. "Our inductees display SALUTE's attributes - service, academics, leadership, unity, tribute and excellence - every day. We wish them the best as they continue in their academic pursuits."

Inductees for the 2017-2018 academic year are: Air Force veteran Joseph Agnello of Elgin; Army veteran Erik Grenee of Hoffman Estates; Air Force veteran Raphael Moreno of Streamwood; Army veteran Crystal Hutchings of Lake in the Hills; Air Force veteran Robert Adame of Elgin; and Army veteran Edgar Cintron of Elgin.

Since its inception in 2013, ECC's chapter has recognized 17 student veterans for their academic success and accomplishments. Membership requires a 3.0 GPA or higher and is open to U.S. armed forces retirees, disabled veterans, active duty military, National Guard members and reservists.
