St. Charles Fine Art Show returns May 26-27
The Downtown St. Charles Partnership will present the 20th Annual St. Charles Fine Art Show on Memorial Day Weekend, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 26, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 27.
Sponsored by STC Capital Bank, this award-winning show features the work of more than 100 juried artists in disciplines such as painting, sculpture, photography, glass, wood, jewelry and other media, all of which draw thousands to downtown St. Charles to view and purchase artwork from across the entire United States and beyond.
This show also welcomes art buyers and art supporters to join the Purchase Program by making a minimum dollar commitment to buy art at the show. This year's participants will receive two free tickets to an Arcada show of their choosing including Evanston Rocks, courtesy of Arcada Live. There will be live musical entertainment throughout the show, sponsored by Neri Landscaping and presented by Arcada Live & Club Arcada which will be located in the parking lot on Second Avenue and Walnut Street. Afternoon Logic, Paul & Jay Rock Duo, Dennis O'Brien, The Jack Macklin Jazz Quartet, Drew Clausen and David Chiriboga and Hugo Salcedo Spanish Guitar Duo are scheduled to perform as well as others.
The Art Activities Tent, Sponsored by Dayspring Pediatric Dentistry, featuring All Things Art Studio, will feature multiple art activities for children and adults. We also have Murano Midwest high end fine art glass sculptures being highlighted in our Feature Tent.
Rest your feet and ride the downtown Historic Trolley Tour, sponsored by Gerald Kia of North Aurora, which will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Docents will narrate during this free 45-minute tour, highlighting many historic homes and buildings of St. Charles along the tour.
This year, in celebration of the 20th annual year, there will be a Paint the Pavement Chalk Festival sponsored by Fox Valley Auto Group, on the west side of the river along First Street featuring four professional chalk artists and even more community groups painting the pavement with various artistic talents.
