Village Theatre Guild presenting 'She Loves Me'

"She Loves Me," a musical comedy, opens Friday, May 25, and runs through June 16 at Village Theatre Guild in Glen Ellyn.

The show, featuring songs by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick and book by Joe Masteroff, is set in a 1930s European parfumerie. Two shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who do not see eye to eye, are not aware they are the recipients of each other's secret love letters.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, May 25 and 26 and June 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16, and at 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, June 2, 3, 9, 10 and 16, in the theater at the northwest corner of Butterfield Road and Park Boulevard.

The cast features Meg McGarry of Plano, John Bihun of Oak Brook, Jake Murphy of St. Charles, Mike Albrow of Naperville, Jocelyn Adamski of Lombard, Patrick Deering of North Aurora, Stan Austin of Wheaton, William Smith of Bollingbrook, Carson VanHorn of Barrington, Jack Calvert of Western Springs, Alison Damore Bihun of Oak Brook, Jean Austin of Wheaton, Holly Brownlie of Addison, Amy DeJong of Downers Grove, Vicki Shargo of Downers Grove, Jon Mills of Elk Grove Village, and Scott Henry of Wheaton.

The production is directed by Terry Kozlowski with musical direction by Jim Stahulak. It's produced by Renata Allelujka with Cheryl Pold as choreographer and Angelee Johns as stage manager.

Village Theatre Guild is in its 56th season and performs in an intimate theater that was formerly a one-room school house.
