Take life breezy at Flying 4 Kids: Kite Fly and Family Picnic

Fly kites for a cause with Schaumburg Park District.

Flying 4 Kids: Kite Fly and Family Picnic is set for noon to 1:30 p.m., May 12 at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane.

The event is held to promote awareness for the Park District Youth License Plate program, which raises funds for youth after-school programming at Illinois park districts.

"Come out and enjoy an afternoon of kite flying," said Kathleen Benson, Bock manager and general program supervisor. "We're hoping for light winds that are perfect for getting kites in the air!"

Kite decorating kits will be available inside Bock. Participants also may bring their own kites, along with a picnic lunch to enjoy outside. Cost is $7 for residents and $10 for non-residents.
