The annual Environmental Fair, co-sponsored by the Schaumburg Library and village of Schaumburg's Environmental Committee, will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Central Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.

All ages are welcome to experience demonstrations, workshops and programs about protecting the environment. A variety of exhibits will be available in the lobby, including an interactive watershed model, the Energy Bike, garden clubs, the Tomato Lady and more.

Scheduled programs include "Help Conserve the Monarch" from noon to 1 p.m. in the Rasmussen South Room, "Microburst or Thunderstorm" from noon to 1 p.m. in the Adult Classroom, "Build a Birdhouse" from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the Rasmussen North Room, and "Build a Monarch-Rearing Cage" from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the Adult Classroom.

Those interested in participating must pick up their free tickets 30 minutes prior to the program at the door of the room in which the program is taking place.

During the Environmental Fair, the library will hold a special one-day collection to recycle the following items: keys, cellphones and eyeglasses. Items can be dropped in the marked bins in the lobby.
