Serve City offers 13 summer volleyball camps

Serve City Athletics is offering 13 different summer volleyball camps for elementary school, middle school and high school student-athletes in the greater Wheaton-Glen Ellyn area.

Serve City's summer volleyball camps focused on game-based learning that is positive and fun and is marked by excellent instruction. Each camp will be capped at 12 players so that coaches can provide small-group and individualized attention to athletes.

The camps feature the best prices of any summer volleyball camps in the Chicago area.

All Serve City camps take place at Vineyard Church of DuPage, 1900 Manchester Road, Wheaton.

The first week of summer camps is devoted to grades 3-9. These camps include a coed all-skills camps for grades 3-5, a coed all-skills camp for grades 6-7, an advanced skills girls camp for grades 8-9, a girls hitting camp for grades 8-9 and a girls setting camp for grades 7-9.

The week of June 18-21 is for high school players. Separate camps will take place focused on hitting, setting, back-row defense and serving and serve receive.

June 25-28 will feature separate growth mindset camps for middle school and for high school. Each of these unique camps opens with a short workshop session that teaches players a growth mindset - the same technique that the U.S. women's national team practices - and how that mindset helps athletes perform under pressure, develop long-term skills and strengthen mental toughness on the court. Then the athletes will apply this mindset in a fun, fast-paced and competitive camp environment that gives them countless gamelike repetitions and lots of helpful verbal and visual feedback and encouragement to sharpen their learning, skill development and love for the game.

For its last week of summer volleyball camps, Serve City will offer separate tryout prep camps for middle school and for high school. This is a great opportunity for athletes planning to try out for their middle school or high school teams to receive targeted coaching, a wealth of playing time at the position(s) of their choice and game experience that works out their pre-tryout jitters.
