Waterbury has a blast at Their Annual McTeacher's Night

Waterbury Elementary of School District 20 held their Annual McTeacher's Night on Thursday, April 5th at the Hanover Park McDonald's on Lake Street. This is an event that is hosted by McDonald's where the local school's teachers and staff members volunteer to work a 1-hour shift during the event and then a percentage of the night's sales are donated to the school.

Waterbury teachers worked many different jobs during this event. Teachers helped take orders, worked the drive-thru window, made ice cream treats, cleaned the lobby and sold many delicious McDonald's Apple Pies while dressed in a Pie costume. Staff members Stephanie Painter, Marilyn Barnum and Ashtyn Thessen all took a turn in the Pie costume during their event and were very successful at selling all 165 pies that were donated to them by the Owner/Operator, The Nelson Family.

District 20 student Maggie Gordon, who will be playing the lead role of Annie in the upcoming School District's Version of the popular play, stopped by to sing a few songs. Maggie did an excellent job! Don't miss the District 20 play that will be held at Lake Park High School on April 11th at 7:00 pm & 12th at 3:00 pm. More information will be available soon on the District 20 website at esd20.org

The money raised from this event will go towards helping pay for in school field trips and Supplies needed for the school.

This event would not have been successful without all the great teachers and staff from Waterbury Elementary School volunteering their time, also a special thank you goes to Waterbury Principal Dr. Deb Guzan, who organized the event.
