Jay Stream Middle School hosts McTeacher's Night at Stratford Drive McDonald's

Jay Stream Middle School in Carol Stream held a McTeacher's Night on Wednesday, April 4, at the Bloomingdale McDonald's on Stratford Drive.

The restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for the Carol Stream Community Consolidated School District 93 school.

The students and families were excited to see their teachers and principal behind the counter and throughout the restaurant. As always Assistant Principal Allison Moe kept the restaurant clean.

Fourteen teachers and staff members worked from the middle school including Principal Julie Tobin and Assistant Principals Chris Pietroski and Allison Moe. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies and even dressing up in a pie costume - all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Jay Stream had three teachers and students dress in the pie box; Chris Necka, Peyton Gerleve, and Staci Gerleve.

A special thank you goes to Jay Stream science teacher Staci Gerleve, who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended the event. Jay Stream teachers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a great evening. Jay Stream plans to put the money raised toward the eighth-grade student's boat trip at the end of the school year.
