Hound Egg Hunt Returns to Palatine on March 31 at Towne Square

Palatine Park District will host the annual Hound Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31 at 10:00am at Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Road, Palatine. Check in will begin at 9:30am. This fun and enjoyable event consists of one hunt for small dogs at approximately 10:20am and one for big dogs at approximately 10:40am.

"Everyone has a great time - including the dogs," said Terry Meinke following last year's event. "Rex and Avery love getting their photo taken with the Easter Bunny and searching for plastic eggs filled with dog treats."

A souvenir photo with a bunny mascot, eggs filled with treats, goody bag, and raffle entry will all be included in the fee. All dogs are required to be wearing their current rabies and applicable village tags to participate in the event. All owners must have a leash and an eye on their dog at all times. In addition to the egg hunt, participants will have the opportunity to visit with community vendors.

"This is something fun and unique for both the owner and their dog," said Lisa Schroeder, Special Interest Coordinator for Palatine Park District. "It's a great way to get out and enjoy the fresh air, while socializing with many different vendors and dog lovers."

Pre-registration fee is $8.00 per dog through Friday, March 30 at 4:00pm and will increase to $10 per dog the day of the event. Registration is accepted online at palatineparks.org or in person at one of three District registration offices until 4:00pm on Friday, March 30. The District registration offices are Birchwood Recreation Center, Community Center, and Falcon Park Recreation Center.

This year's presenting sponsor is A Closer Bond Dog School. Gold level partners include, Loving Care Animal Hospital, Berkshire Hathaway Starck Real Estate-Sue Gould, Bentley's Pet Stuff, Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Schaumburg, Golf Rose Animal Services, and Daily Herald Media Group.
