Field of Dreams' 'Casino Night' to benefit rescued horses

"Let it Ride!" will be the theme of Field of Dreams Horse Rescue and Adoption's 11th annual dinner and silent auction on Saturday, April 14.

The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club, 2241 Route 59 in West Chicago.

In addition to enjoying dinner and cocktails, attendees will be able to play their favorite casino tables and possibly win prizes such as an LG TV, an Amazon Fire, a Galena getaway and tickets to a Chicago Cubs game.

Items up for bid during the silent auction include: Chicago getaways at the Waldorf Astoria, the Viceroy Hotel and the Raddison Blu-Aqua; tickets for "Hamilton," the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Handel's "Messiah"; Terrace Box tickets for a Cubs game; a Segway tour of Chicago; golf foursomes at Willow Crest and St. Andrews; an Amazon Echo and a Galaxy Tablet; and a Holly and Tanager designer purse.

The cost to attend Field of Dreams' "Mane Event" is $75 per person if reservations are made by April 1 and $85 after that date.

Field of Dreams is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of abused, abandoned or neglected horses. The organization also provides adoption services to owners who love their horses, but through no fault of their own must find their companion a new home. Field of Dreams helps horses that are between homes to be healthy in mind, body and spirit. The organization's horses are stabled at Silver Spur Ranch Equestrian Center in Maple Park.
