Volunteer tutors needed to help adults learn English and math

The Adult Literacy Project at Waubonsee Community College is seeking volunteers to tutor adult learners in math, reading, writing and speaking English.

The Adult Literacy Project provides volunteers with training and materials at no charge. Volunteers have two options for training.

One is a two-day class and the other is an online, self-paced training program.

The training sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, May 12 and 19, at Waubonsee's Aurora downtown campus at 18 S. River St.

Prospective tutors must complete training before working with adult learners. Participants must register for the training by contacting Galina Khartulari at gkhartulari@waubonsee.edu or by calling (630) 801-4661.
