State bicentennial commission names Summer Place Theatre an official project

The Summer Place, Naperville's Community Theatre since 1966, is proud to announce that the Illinois State Bicentennial Commission has named this, its 52nd season, as an official Bicentennial Project.

Each Summer Place production this year has ties to the state.

As an official Bicentennial Project, Summer Place has a listing on the state's website and inclusion in its announcements and programs.

The first production, "By Thy Rivers Gently Flowing," will be March 23-25. It's an original musical revue celebrating Illinois history and her citizens with old favorites, modern tunes and even TV jingles.

Continuing the bicentennial celebration season, Summer Place Theatre will present "Bleacher Bums," "Sugar" and "Footloose," all of which have ties to the state of Illinois.

See www.SummerPlaceTheatre.org for show dates and upcoming auditions for each production.
