Barrington Cultural Arts Center March Artist of the Month

The Barrington Cultural Arts Center (BCAC) welcomes artist, CMKapica's painting series, 'FOCUS ON FEELINGS', as the featured art at the BCAC gallery at the Ice House Mall for the month of March, 2018.

CMKapica is a multi-media abstract artist whose creations are designed to enhance life spaces, whether they be private or public.

'I paint what I feel, not what I see', CMK explains. 'The potential of an object to transform inspires me, so I am often drawn to repurposing cast-off items into something extraordinary, creating hybrid textures, colors, forms, and space that involve and intrigue the viewer. My Focus on Feelings series explores common human emotions that connect us all.'

CMKapica's creative endeavors began with textiles and fibers, and expanded to gemstones, found objects, reclaimed wood, wax, and paint. The resulting art has shown in juried venues and in published national anthologies, as well as in Chicago-area galleries.
