Lincoln State Cat Show in St. Charles Feb. 24-25

This weekend, the Lincoln State Cat Club will host its 57th Annual Pedigree and Household Pet Cat Show.

The show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24 and 25, at the Kane County Fairgrounds, 525 S. Randall Road, corner of Randall Road and Route 38, in St. Charles. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and children age 6 and older. Children younger than age 7 are admitted free. Parking is free. A discount coupon is available at the club's website. There will be up to 225 cats on display for the public to view and, for the first time, there will be 10 rings of competition. This is where the pedigree cat and the Household Pet stars will compete to become the Best In Show.

The show will feature educational seminars all weekend long. They will include the care, health and well-being of family felines and the importance of spaying and neutering your pets, Also, two veterinarians, a groomer, pet-sitters and feline behavior counselors will present information on how to take care of your kitten/cat.

For those looking for a new addition to the family, there will be shelters and rescues with cats available for adoption.

Looking for a toy or climbing tree for your cat? The show will include up to 40 vendors who will offer a variety of cat care accessories, arts, jewelry, cat play and toy products.

Super Hero Garfield will walk around visiting with the kids and will pose for selfies with fans.

Free coloring books will be given to all children. The coloring book is a simple way to read up on how to "Love and Take Care of Your Kitty."

The Lincoln State Cat Club gives back to the community. All proceeds from the show are donated to different feline groups such as the Winn Foundation, the Morris Foundation and organizations that rescue and shelter cats for adoption. Over the years the Lincoln State Cat Club has donated more than $100,000 to the Morris Foundation for research on the health and care of cats.

Attendees are asked to bring a can of poultry-based cat food as a donation to local rescue groups.
