MCC Second Sunday Series to feature concert of love songs

The McHenry County College Second Sunday concert series will host jazz/pop artists Maureen Christine and Michael Bazan at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11 for "If I Loved You," a concert of show tunes, swingin' sax and sweet love songs. The concert will take place in the Luecht Conference Center at the college, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

The concert will pay tribute to favorite Broadway show tunes, popular music from the 1950s through the '70s and swinging jazz standards.

Vocalist Maureen is a national recording artist and award-winning singer with "a voice crystal clear." She has opened for Willie Nelson, shared the stage with pop star Barry Manilow, and performed for astronaut Buzz Aldrin. MCC jazz instructor Michael Bazan is an esteemed music educator and professional woodwind player.

The duo will be accompanied by pianist Don Stille, Grammy-nominated accordionist. The concert is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the concert.
