Six Teams; Two Meets; One Winning Weekend for Ultimate Gymnasts
Ultimate Gymnastics of Gurnee's Junior Olympic girls' teams enjoyed victories at two separate Illinois meets the weekend of Jan. 27-29, 2018. Gymnasts competing in Levels 7-10 participated in the UGA Classic in Tinley Park while those competing Levels 3-6 attended the King Arthur Invitational in Bourbonnais.
UGA Classic
The 2018 UGA Classic, hosted by United Gymnastics Academy of Tinley Park, IL, attracted more than 1,300 talented gymnasts from states around the Midwest.
In the highly competitive Level 9-10 divisions, all four of Ultimate's participating team members finished in the Top-Ten for individual events and all four have qualified for their Illinois State competitions in March! Individual placements are as follows:

Sylvia Raquel: Vault (10th); Beam (2nd); Floor (4th); All-Around (8th)
L9 Child
Anna Becker: Bars (7th); Beam (7th); Floor (8th); All-Around (6th)

Ultimate's Level 8 athletes also brought strong routines to the floor; and were proud recipients of the Third-Place Team trophy for their level. In the Child division, Bailey Curtis was golden on the uneven bars and Emma Haas took the top spot for the balance beam. Individual placements are as follows:

Ultimate's Level 7 gymnasts were on fire, finishing with the Second-Place Team trophy. In the Junior division, Jillian Ellenwood was vault champion and Amanda Hamman took the gold for floor exercise. Kaya Bogot continued an outstanding season, placing first on vault, uneven bars and all-around in the Senior division. Senior teammate Mia Morello grabbed the gold for floor exercise. King Arthur Invitational
The King Arthur Invitational, hosted by Gymnastics X-Caliber of Coal City, IL was another multi-state event, featuring athletes from 28 gyms across the Midwest.
With 10 Top-Three individual event finishes, raising the Level 6 Fourth-Place Team banner on Saturday night was exciting; but even more exciting is that all 21 of Ultimate's Level 6 gymnasts are now qualified for the Illinois State championship in March! Standouts included Maya Roiland, who added another gold medal to her collection by winning the floor exercise event. Individual placements are as follows:

Ultimate's Level 3 athletes continued to shine in their debut season, scoring two gold medals, 13 Top-Three medals and a Second-Place Team banner. Abby Leverenz claimed the gold medal for floor exercise and teammate Lydia Fakhoury was the balance beam champion in the Junior A Division. Geneva Carlson celebrated a first-place finish on vault in the Senior A Division. Individual placements are as follows:
