More than 1 million meals to be packed in 36 hours Feb. 17-18

More than 6,000 volunteers will pack more than 1 million life-saving meals in just 36 hours at the Feed My Starving Children "Feed The Need!" MobilePack event Feb. 17-18 at North Central College in Naperville.

Nutritious meals are distributed by missions and humanitarian organizations to assist in reversing and preventing undernutrition in children around the world.

Hosted by North Central College, the annual MobilePack is a coalition of DuPage, Will and Kane area churches, civic organizations, local businesses, schools, community groups and individuals that organize and fund the event. Volunteers have packed a total of 4 million meals since it began in 2011.

Volunteers are asked to bring non-perishable food to help restock the Loaves & Fishes Food pantry (loaves-fishes.org) and Northern Illinois Food Bank (solvehungertoday.org).

Collection bins will be available at event on-site registration.

Gerald KIA of Naperville, the event's premier partner, has donated a 2018 KIA Niro LX for a raffle on Feb 18.

"We're seeking more churches, businesses and civic groups to participate with volunteers and funding so that we can reach our meal production goals to feed starving kids and families," says Bob Huebner, co-founder of Feed the Need! MobilePack. To date, the event has more than 30 partners and sponsors.
