Fall in love with free February health screenings

Life just got sweeter with free AMITA Health screenings at Schaumburg Park District locations.

Free screenings are being offered most Wednesdays this February through a partnership between the District and AMITA Health.

During the screenings, an AMITA Health nurse will check blood pressure, perform body fat/body analysis and assess stroke risk.

"For many people, the beginning of a new year is a time to make health and wellness a priority," said Charissa Tischhauser, fitness supervisor for the District. "Getting a health screening is a great first step in fulfilling the promise to yourself of having a healthy new year!"

Appointments are recommended for cholesterol screenings. Registration is available at amitahealth.org/cholesterolscreening.

February screenings include:

• 8-11 a.m., Feb. 9, Community Recreation Center/Water Works lobby, 505 N. Springinsguth Road (cholesterol screening)

• 8-11 a.m., Feb 14, Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way

• 4-7 p.m., Feb. 21, Schaumburg Tennis Plus, 1416 N. Payne Road
