Woodlands Academy swimmer's successes continue at Kenyon College

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Caylee Hamilton, a 2017 graduate of Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart and three-time IHSA state qualifier in girls' swimming, was honored as Swimmer of the Week by the North Coast Athletic Conference based on performances that helped the Kenyon College women's team post a dual-meet win over Oberlin College Jan. 13.

Hamilton achieved two individual event and two relay wins. Her individual wins were in the 50-yard freestyle (:24.43) and 100-yard butterfly (:59.73). These were her specialty events at Woodlands. In addition, Hamilton led off two winning Kenyon College relay teams - the 200-yard medley (1:54.15) and 200-yard freestyle (1:42.77).

And her college successes extend beyond the water's edge. Hamilton scored a win academically by making Kenyon's Merit List (GPA of 3.55 or above) for the first semester of her freshman year at the Gambier, Ohio, school.

During her years at Woodlands Academy, Hamilton qualified for Girls Swim and Dive state meets in each of the three years that she competed. As a sophomore, Hamilton became the first Wildcat swimmer to qualify for the state finals, an achievement that was even more noteworthy given that she was competing in her first high school meet of the season at that time.
