Crespo to Host Seminar to Help Residents Learn About Ways to Lower Their State Tax Bill

State Rep. Fred Crespo, D-Hoffman Estates, will host a free State Tax Credits 101 seminar for residents at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Hanover Township Senior Center, 240 Route 59 in Bartlett.

"As the new year begins, many people are beginning to put all of their financial information together so they can be ready for tax filing season," Crespo said. "However, knowing what state tax credits and exemptions are available can be really confusing."

Crespo has partnered with Hanover Township to welcome experts from the Taxpayers Federation of Illinois and the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability to discuss cost-saving tax credits and exemptions that residents may qualify for in Illinois.

For information or to RSVP, residents may contact Crespo's constituent service office at (630) 372-3340 or find him on Facebook at www.facebook.com/StateRepCrespo. The seminar will focus on state-level credits, not federal.

"I want to thank the Taxpayers Federation of Illinois and the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability for helping me provide this valuable information to families in my community," Crespo said.

"I encourage everyone to join us and learn about cost-saving tax credits that may help you keep more of your hard-earned money."
