Woodlands Academy Announces 2018-19 Illinois State Scholars

Four Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart students are among the high school seniors being honored as Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) 2018-19 State Scholars in recognition of superior academic achievement. Illinois State Scholars represent approximately the top 10 percent of high school seniors from 738 high schools across the state. They possess strong academic potential and are chosen based on a combination of exemplary ACT or SAT test scores and sixth semester class rank.

"On behalf of ISAC, I want to congratulate all of this year's State Scholars for their exceptional work and wish them much success in their future endeavors," said Eric Zarnikow, ISAC executive director.

Woodlands Academy's 2018-19 Illinois State Scholars are: Aleksandra Bartolik, of Waukegan; Genevieve Kerns, of Wilmette; Mary Pinn, of Lake Forest; and Mikayla Swanson, of Chicago.

"I am so proud of our State Scholars for achieving this recognition of all their hard work and outstanding academic performance during their years here at Woodlands Academy," said Head of School Meg Steele. "I'd also like to thank the members of our faculty who foster the one-on-one relationships allowing each student to determine how she learns best."
