A Golden Night Under the Golden Arches for Churchill Elementary

Churchill Elementary School in District 54 held its first McTeacher's Night on Thursday, December 7th at the Hoffman Estates Barrington Square McDonald's on Higgins Rd.

A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers and staff work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales back to the local school.

On December 7th, the restaurant was taken over by teachers and staff members from Churchill Elementary excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families.

Many teachers and staff members worked from the school including Principal Steve Kern and Assistant Principal Carol Novak. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling apple pies and even dressing up as an apple pie.

A Special thank you goes to teachers Judy Stewart and Hesper Wolfe who volunteered to dress up as an apple pie while families donated funds for their own delicious pie! Teacher Hesper Wolfe danced around and made a "Pie Party Train" having the students follow her throughout the restaurant while dancing and singing the entire time. The families had a wonderful time.

To make this night of FUNdraising even more exciting and memorable there was a very special appearance made by Ronald McDonald. The families, staff, and children took many pictures and selfies as Ronald gave everyone high-fives.

Thank you to Principal Steve Kern, Assistant Principal Carol Novak, And Hesper Wolfe who organized the event as well as everyone who volunteered and worked so hard to make this night a success for Churchill Elementary School.

Churchill Elementary School plans to use the money raised to support the schools PBIS program.
