Christian Youth Theatre to stage 'A Christmas Carol'

The Christian Youth Theatre-DuPage will present "A Christmas Carol" Dec. 7-10 at Batavia Fine Arts Centre, 1201 Main St.

The school day performances will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, and 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8. Public performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, and 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9-10.

In Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three spirits who attempt to show him there is more to life than his love of money. This is accomplished through giving him a tour of his past, present and future and allowing him to witness London Christmas celebrations of all shapes and sizes.

The stage version of Dickens' story includes his message plus music written by Alan Menken and song lyrics penned by Lynn Ahrens.

Advance tickets are $14, $12 for ages 2-17 or seniors 62 or older. It is $11 for groups of 15 or more. Tickets are an additional $2 at the door.

School day advance tickets are $5 for groups of 75 and more, $6 for school groups of 15 to 74, or $9 per individual.
