'Practicing Wonder' is theme for Advent, Christmas at St. James West Dundee

Advent is a season of expectation. St. James Episcopal Church, 516 Washington St. in West Dundee, will celebrate "The Wonder of Hope" on the first Sunday of Advent, Dec. 3.

Special guests from St. Martin's Episcopal Church in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago will visit and share God's hope for their community.

St. James is giving part of its Christmas offering to St. Martin's and planning a work day with St. Martin's.

All are welcome to worship and experience the hope of the coming of the Christ child.

St. James Episcopal Church is a historic congregation that has served Northern Kane County and the Fox River Valley for 153 years. Its mission is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ as they welcome, teach and serve all God's people.
