Aurora Film Society throws premiere party Dec. 9

The new Aurora Film Society is throwing a premiere party on Saturday, Dec. 9.

The public is invited to join a community of local film enthusiasts from 7 to 10 p.m. at Gallery 1904, 1 E. Benton St., as they collaborate to bring monthly screenings of curated films to downtown Aurora.

The film society hopes that their first fundraiser and membership drive will provide an opportunity for film buffs to get together and enjoy an evening of food, drink, and film.

Guests will have the opportunity to purchase subscriptions to the inaugural year of film screenings. Live jazz will be performed by the Dan Pierson Trio. There also will be a silent auction of film related artifacts, books, original artwork, DVDs, and soundtrack recordings.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will serve to underwrite the activities of the Aurora Film Society including the monthly film series and special screenings.

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased by contacting Jeanne Norris at norrisjeanne@gmail.com.
